Circumnavigation of New Zealand

On the 25th February 2005 Glenn Shaw left the UK bound for a 5 week solo circumnavigation of New Zealand.

Glenn's last expedition was to the Tibetan side of Everest where he and his team reached the Base Camp of Mt Everest. Glenn recounts "It was a great moment for the entire team I, particularly having attained my own Everest and having had an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Mallory".

This expedition for Glenn was "Back to basics", just like Glenn's first expedition's to Canada and Colorado, this challenge was a solo affair and all Glenn had to rely on his physical and mental strength to get him through.

One extra issue that Glenn needed to deal with during this expedition was that his health hadn't been as good as it has been in the past. Since returning from Everest it was discovered that Glenn has several cracks in both femurs and as such he will need to consider each and every action during this challenge with additional consideration.

Another key objective was to return by kayak to the Southern Ocean.
